Storage Terms

1. Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” means Central Removals & Storage Ltd. 

  • “You”, “Your” means the customer entering this agreement. 

  • “Goods” means the items accepted into storage under this agreement. 

  • “Storage Facility” means the premises where the goods are stored.

2. Agreement and period of storage

2.1 Storage commences on the date the goods are received into our facility. 
2.2 The minimum storage period is one month, unless otherwise agreed. 
2.3 This agreement continues until terminated in accordance with Section 10.

 

3. Charges and Payment 

3.1 Storage fees are charged monthly in advance, as agreed. 
3.2 Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue unless otherwise stated. 
3.3 If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to: 

  • (a) charge interest at 5% above the Bank of England base rate, and/or 

  • (b) deny access to your goods until full payment is made. 

3.4 All fees must be cleared before goods are released.

4. Your Responsibilities 

You agree to: 

  • 4.1 Ensure all goods are properly packed and labelled before storage. 

  • 4.2 Declare any items of high value or special nature before storage. 

  • 4.3 Not store any of the following: 

  • Food or perishable goods 

  • Explosives, flammable materials, or hazardous substances 

  • Illegal goods or items that emit odour or fumes 

  • Living creatures or plants 

  • 4.4 Provide accurate contact details and notify us immediately of any changes.

5. Our Responsibilities 

5.1 We will take reasonable care of your goods and store them in a secure, dry environment. 
5.2 We are not liable for: 

  • (a) Damage caused by inherent defects, pests, or atmospheric conditions; 

  • (b) Loss or damage unless resulting from our proven negligence. 

5.3 Our liability (if any) is limited to £2,000 total, unless a higher value is declared and additional insurance arranged.

6. Access to Goods 

6.1 Access is by appointment only, during our business hours. 
6.2 We may require proof of identity before allowing access. 
6.3 We reserve the right to temporarily deny access if payments are overdue.

7. Insurance 

7.1 We strongly recommend that you maintain adequate insurance for your goods while in storage. 
7.2 If you do not arrange insurance, you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage beyond our limited liability.
